INTENSIFICATION OF INSANIAH QUALITY FROM AL-QURAN PERSPECTIVE

According to the Kamus Dewan, fourth edition, published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, the word “insan” is an Arabic word which bears the meaning of creature created by Allah SWT who is not absolved from neglectful characteristics. In the meantime, the term “insaniah” is related to humans or that which has humanity. Insan is the most noble of creatures and the best creation of Allah. This is seen and observed from Allah’s commandments in Surah Al-Isra’ verse 70 which bears the following understanding: “We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of Our Creation ”. This verse shows that all that is created in this earth, the benefit derived therefrom is for the use of humans. In the meantime humans are created to submit to Allah and to be khalifah of Allah to manage this world according to Allah. As such this paper will discuss the five weak characteristics of humans explained in al-Quran al-Karim. This study intends to examine and analyse the ways to overcome these weaknesses with a view to increase and improve the quality and excellent characteristics of humans (al-Quwwah al-Insaniah) from the perspective of al-Quran.
